Hunt earns Tigers accolade
The Republic of Ireland international has been a big hit at the KC Stadium after joining the Tigers from Reading last summer, netting six goals in 27 games before picking up a foot injury in February that ended his season. Despite missing the last two and a half months of the campaign, the 28-year-old finished the season as Hull's leading scorer. He is unlikely to be at the club next season, though, with relegation from the Premier League compounding Hull's financial problems, and, as their most saleable asset, Hunt admitted last week he expects to be sold. Veteran midfielder Boateng, who is also likely to have played his last game for the Tigers, was second in the poll with defender Andy Dawson third. Boateng also picked up the Goal of the Season award for his volley in the 2-1 victory over Manchester City in February while striker Mark Cullen was named Young Player of the Season.
