Holden continues recovery
The Bolton midfielder has continued his recovery from a serious knee injury with a 90-minute run-out for the Trotters reserves. The United States international has been out since suffering the injury in a tackle with Manchester United's Jonny Evans in March. The 26-year-old has now had three run-outs with the second string and hopes to force his way back into first-team contention after playing a full game against Arsenal reserves. Reserve-team boss John Henry told the club's website: "Obviously Stuart has come through 90 minutes which is extremely satisfying and more good news for the gaffer." Former Houston Dynamo player Holden make a big impression at the Reebok Stadium last season and was voted the club's player of the year despite missing the last two months of the campaign.
