Hoffenheim midfielder Sejad Salihovic has been ruled out for eight to 10 weeks after undergoing knee surgery on Monday.

The Bundesliga club says the 28-year-old Bosnia international successfully underwent surgery to repair the outer meniscus of his right knee.

Salihovic was injured during a 0-0 league draw with Borussia Moenchengladbach on Jan. 19.

Hoffenheim general manager Andreas Mueller says Salihovic's loss ''hits us hard. Along with Sebastian Rudy and Boris Vukcevic, he is now the third midfielder ruled out for a long period.''
