Hodgson eyes home improvement
The Baggies have collected 25 points during the current campaign but only eight of them have come at The Hawthorns, where they have suffered seven defeats in the Premier League.
In contrast, Albion have achieved five victories away from home and clocked up 17 points to help keep them clear of the relegation zone.
Hodgson, whose side entertain Norwich in an FA Cup fourth-round clash on Saturday, said: "We are very disappointed with our home form so far this season.
"We have had bad results and not many performances have lived up to what our home public would have been hoping for. Our away performances have been better.
"But it is a quirk and not a trend and if someone says 'why?', I can't explain it. Perhaps we are trying too hard to get it right so, when things go against you, it is hard to get back on track.
"Our away form has dampened down the impact of our home results. But our home form is very important to us.
"I would expect many of our points in the final third of the season to come at home and that we can put this unfortunate period behind us."
