Former Germany international goalkeeper Timo Hildebrand will leave Hoffenheim at the end of the season.

The Bundesliga club confirmed the decision was made after a detailed discussion between manager Jan Schindelmeiser, coach Ralf Rangnick, Hildebrand and his agent.

Hildebrand only joined Hoffenheim in January last year after falling out of favour at Valencia.

The 31-year-old, who has won seven caps for Germany, spent eight years at Stuttgart before moving to Spain.

A statement on Hoffenheim's website read: "Goalkeeper Timo Hildebrand will no longer play for Hoffenheim in the coming season."
