Hermann hails Pompey cup progress
Pompey have had well-documented problems off the field this season and are almost certain to be relegated from the Premier League, but they continued their FA Cup run on Saturday with a 2-0 quarter-final win over Birmingham. The financial reward that comes with a cup run has taken on added significance for the south coast outfit, who are currently in administration with debt estimated in the region of £70million. Hreidarsson helped Pompey claim FA Cup glory in 2008, but he believes their current run this season eclipses that tremendous feat. "Without a doubt it's a greater achievement than two years ago," said the Icelander. "Even though we beat Manchester United away that season, with the changes of personnel at the club and everything else going on, it's a great achievement. "It's been frustrating because we didn't know who the owners were or what was going on. "There have been negative vibes and doom and gloom throughout the season. But, when you go over the white line, you concentrate on playing football."
