Hannover's Huszti match ban upheld

The German Football Federation (DFB) has upheld a one-match ban for Hannover midfielder Szabolcs Huszti which he received after being sent off for celebrating a winning goal.

Huszti was shown two yellow cards after scoring an overhead injury-time winner in Saturday's 3-2 win over Werder Bremen in the Bundesliga.

Referee Deniz Aytekin issued the first yellow card to the Hungarian midfielder for taking his shirt off, and a second for climbing the stands to celebrate with fans.

The DFB says Aytekin's decision ''conforms with rules'' drawn up ''to prevent too much time-wasting through excessive goal celebrations.''

Citing referees' instructions based on FIFA regulations, the DFB further said if a player commits a second offence warranting a booking he ''must be sent off with a second yellow card.''
