Hammers agree on fee for Benni

BY foxsports • January 26, 2010

It is understood the clubs have reached agreement over an undisclosed transfer fee but are still negotiating over a couple of other issues. McCarthy has infuriated Rovers by staying away from training for the last three days in order to try to force a move through. The 32-year-old, who has described a potential switch to Upton Park as a 'dream move', is now hoping to agree personal terms with the Hammers. The former Ajax and Celta Vigo forward is ready for a fresh start having joined Blackburn from Porto for £2.5million in the summer of 2006. He made a superb start in the Premier League, scoring 24 goals in his first season, before hitting 24 over the last two campaigns. McCarthy has scored just four goals this term and has a total of 52 in 141 appearances for Rovers.
