Hamburg eyeing Rafinha - Agent
Schalke full-back Rafinha is the focus of transfer speculation for the second summer running with Hamburg now named as a possible destination.
The Brazilian spent most of last summer expressing his desire to join Bayern Munich, but Schalke manager Felix Magath blocked the move and sent him home to Brazil to clear his mind.
However, given the financial difficulties the Royal Blues are currently experiencing, a transfer this summer may not be out of the question and the player's agent has already set the wheels in motion by claiming Hamburg would be an "great place" for his client.
"It is right, HSV have made an enquiry," he told the Hamburger Abendblatt newspaper.
"Of course HSV would be a great place for Rafinha to play - they are a club any footballer in the Bundesliga would like to join."
Rafinha is due back in Germany from his summer holidays on Wednesday when a meeting with Magath is likely to be high up on the agenda.
Magath knows he must sell players to have any funds to invest this summer and, after declaring that he will listen to offers for anybody but Manuel Neuer, Rafinha could well be the fourth player to leave last season's Bundesliga runners-up this summer.
Kevin Kuranyi, Gerald Asamoah and Ze Roberto have all already found new employers.
