Gunners confirm Denilson exit
The 23-year-old revealed earlier this week he would be returning to his homeland, a move the club have now authorised. The Brazilian expressed his 'sadness' at leaving Emirates Stadium for pastures new in search of first-team football, although he would continue to track the club's results from South America. Denilson made his first-team debut in October 2006 in a League Cup match against West Bromwich Albion and has gone on to make 153 appearances for the Gunners in all competitions. "The club can confirm that Denilson has joined Brazilian side Sao Paulo on loan for the 2011/12 season," read a statement on the club's official website. "Everyone at Arsenal Football Club wishes Denilson the best of luck during his time in Brazil with Sao Paulo." The Brazil midfielder is looking forward to getting back into action. He said: "I will be playing in Brazil next season as I felt that this is a good opportunity for me to play regular first-team football. "I move away with sadness because I have so many friends at Arsenal and everyone has always been so supportive towards me. "I'm now focused on doing well in Brazil next season, but will always be looking out for the Arsenal results. It is a great club with many great players, a good team spirit and a top-class manager. I wish you well for next season."
