Gunners check on Rondon
The Venezuelan striker has enjoyed a standout season in Spain, notching 14 goals in 29 appearances. He only made the step up into the Primera Liga last summer, having honed his skills at Aragua and Las Palmas. His efforts this season have seen his reputation enhanced considerably, with scouts from across Europe having flocked to Malaga to see him in action. Arsenal are among those believed be leading the chase, with Arsene Wenger weighing up the merits of a summer approach. Representatives from Emirates Stadium were in Spain over the weekend to see Rondon score in a 3-0 victory over Atletico Madrid. Having been suitably impressed by the 21-year-old, they will have sent a glowing report back to England. Speculation in Spain suggests that a bid of around 15-20million euros (£13-18m) would be required to tempt Malaga into a sale.
