Goodwillie ineligible until Jan
Blackburn caretaker manager Eric Black has revealed that David Goodwillie will be unable to play for the club until January.
Goodwillie returned early from a loan spell at Crystal Palace this week having failed to settle in London.
But under the terms of that deal, the Scottish striker cannot play for Rovers or any other club until the transfer window reopens.
Black said: "David's come back. He's fully aware that he can't play. Unfortunately he didn't settle - that can be a combination of not playing regularly and whatever else.
"We've agreed between the clubs to bring him back so we've reintegrated him into training and hopefully in the next month or so, when the break comes, he'll be in a position to contribute.
"He can't go back out. He's back here, he'll train and we'll try and get one or two behind-closed-doors games for him. But he can't play officially. We'd love to have David Goodwillie fit and contributing but that's the way it's worked out and both clubs are comfortable with that."
