Gomez: Bayern can still win title

Bayern Munich striker Mario Gomez has not given up on winning the Bundesliga, despite a 14-point deficit to current leaders Borussia Dortmund.
The Germany international has rediscovered his form recently and believes Bayern are now heading in the right direction and are capable of making up the lost ground during the second half of the season.
"When you look at how strange things have gone in the first 17 games of the season, then anybody really can beat anybody and that means anything is possible for us," he told the Bild newspaper.
"Of course we can still win the league. First position may be a long way away, but when you see how a team like Frankfurt can beat this runaway league leader, then it shows that the league is going crazy this season.
"Each weekend, there are results that you would not predict in a thousand years.
"Why shouldn't Dortmund suddenly lose a few games in a row? We have not lost our belief of getting back up to the top after the winter."
Gomez scored a hat trick at the weekend against his former club Stuttgart and he will be aiming to do the same again when the two sides meet for the second time in four days tomorrow in the DFB-Pokal.
"We really want to win and get through to the next round," he said. "Of course I will try to score again."
