Gohouri: Latics on a high
Latics went to Liverpool at the weekend knowing that their Premier League status hangs in the balance. They were, however, able to hold their own against Kenny Dalglish's in-form side and leave with a 1-1 draw. Wigan are now unbeaten in three games, with only goal difference keeping them inside the relegation zone. Gohouri, who notched the Latics' leveller on Merseyside, admits confidence has returned to the side, with safety now very much within reach. "We just never stopped believing that we could get something out of the game," he told the Wigan Evening Post. "We knew we were playing well in the game and we deserved to get our goal. "We came here with a great deal of confidence after last week's win over Blackburn, and that gave us a real spring in our step. "We knew we had nothing to lose at Anfield and we showed a great deal of character to get a result. "To get a point at Liverpool can only help our confidence in the dressing room even further, and hopefully that will stand us in good stead."
