Germany has called up Hannover goalkeeper Ron-Robert Zieler for the first time for matches against Austria and Poland.

The national federation said Friday that it had chosen the 22-year-old Zieler as a reserve keeper behind No. 1 Manuel Neuer of Bayern Munich and Werder Bremen's Tim Wiese.

Bayer Leverkusen's Rene Adler, one of Germany's regular reserves, is out injured.

Germany goalkeeping coach Andreas Koepke says Zieler could take a ''big share'' of responsibility for Hannover's qualification for European play this season. Hannover finished fourth in the Bundesliga last season.
