Genoa and Fiorentina shared four goals as they both remained in the bottom half of the table on a day of draws in Serie A.

Fernando Belluschi put the home side in front in the 21st minute before Riccardo Montolivo and Cesare Natali turned the game around.

However, a late strike from Rodrigo Palacio salvaged Genoa a point.

Fiorentina did not need any reminder about the qualities of their former goalkeeper Sebastien Frey, but he gave them one anyway as he denied Amauri with a good save in the third minute.

They knew how dangerous Alberto Gilardino is too, yet he also wanted to remind them in the 13th minute as he set up Davide Biondini for Genoa's first shot on goal.

The home side took the lead in the 21st minute with Giandomenico Mesto's cross was met by the head of Belluschi, who directed the ball into the opposite corner.

Palacio nearly doubled their advantage within 60 seconds, but he blazed his shot over with only Artur Boruc to beat.

Biondini had the ball in the back of the net again for Genoa in the 28th minute, but the goal was rightly ruled out for offside.

Three minutes later, Fiorentina levelled when Montolivo deliberately deflected Juan Vargas's shot past Frey from close range as the flag stayed down.

Play was disrupted by numerous fouls until Fiorentina took the lead in the 70th minute from a corner.

The ball was swung into the middle where Natali leapt to beat Frey with a header.

Fiorentina missed the chance to seal the win in the 87th minute when Vargas's shot was deflected behind by Mesto.

It proved to be a costly miss as Genoa levelled in the 89th minute with Palacio beating two men before sending his shot low into the far corner.
