Doncaster Rovers have signed former Oldham captain Dean Furman on a two-year deal.

The South Africa midfielder spent the final month of the season on loan at the Keepmoat and helped Rovers clinch the League One title in a race that went to the final day.

His contract with the Latics expired at the end of term but he reunites with former Latics manager Paul Dickov, who was appointed Rovers manager in May.

Furman began his career at Chelsea but moved to Rangers after failing to make a first-team breakthrough.

A loan spell at Bradford followed, before he arrived at Boundary Park in 2009, going on to make 131 appearances for the club.
