Fulham's Steve Sidwell extends contract by 3 years

Fulham midfielder Steve Sidwell has extended his contract with the Premier League club until the end of the 2013-14 season.

The 28-year-old Sidwell joined from Aston Villa in January on a six-month contract. The west London club has exercised an option to extend it for another three years.

Sidwell has started four Premier League matches for Fulham and come on as a substitute in another two.

Fulham has lost only one of those six league matches Sidwell has appeared in and is just two points and three places behind ninth-place Villa.

Sidwell played for Reading between 2003-07 before moving to Chelsea the following season. He then joined Villa in 2008.
