Fulham puts Wolfsburg out of Europe
Bobby Zamora scored the winning goal after just 21 seconds as Fulham beat Wolfsburg 1-0 to reach the semifinals of the Europa League.
Zamora picked up a short pass from Zoltan Gera, turned past Jan Simunek and slotted his finish inside the right-hand post to stun the home side and add to Fulham's 2-1 lead from the first leg last week.
The English team held on to progress 3-1 on aggregate and will play another German side, Hamburg, in the last four.
Wolfsburg striker Grafite found the net early on but the goal was ruled out for offside. At the other end, Gera's header from a corner forced a save out of Wolfsburg goalkeeper Diego Benaglio.
With Wolfsburg, last season's German champion, failing to create much pressure, Zamora had another opportunity in the 59th minute but Benaglio came off the line to clear.
Edin Dzeko, one of the Bundesliga's top scorers over the past two seasons, then tested Fulham goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer but the Australia international made a good stop. Benaglio did the same, denying Simon Davies from close range.
Danny Murphy could have put the game beyond reach in the 82nd minute but defender Andrea Barzagli cleared the ball off the line.
Wolfsburg created late chances - following one attack, Dzeko's shot bounced off the post, Grafite sent the rebound towards goal but Fulham center back Brede Hangeland cleared off the line.
Schwarzer kept out another late effort by Dzeko as Fulham held on.
