Frei offered trial at Liverpool
Toronto FC goalkeeper Stefan Frei has been granted permission to undertake a spell training at Liverpool.
New York Red Bulls striker Juan Agudelo recently spent time at Anfield, with Reds boss Kenny Dalglish offering him a window of opportunity.
And Liverpool have now returned to the MLS for Frei, with Toronto announcing that an agreement had been reached for him to fly over to Merseyside.
The 25-year-old shot-stopper will remain in England until December 18.
"This is a great opportunity for Stefan and we were happy to give him permission to train with a historic club like Liverpool," Toronto manager Aron Winter said in a statement released on the club's official website.
"He has emerged as one of the top keepers in the league since the start of his career and has certainly earned this special opportunity."
Frei has been on Toronto's books since 2009 and made 27 league appearances for the club in 2011 and four starts in the Nutrilite Canadian Championship.
