Fabian Frei is getting another chance to play his first game for Switzerland after coach Ottmar Hitzfeld named the 22-year-old midfielder to the squad for 2012 European Championship qualifiers against Wales and Montenegro.

Frei scored the first of three goals for FC Basel in their 3-3 Champions League draw with Manchester United on Tuesday. Basel's other goals in that match went to Alex Frei, who retired from international football last year.

Hitzfeld also named 19-year-old FC Zurich defender Ricardo Rodriguez to the squad for the first time.

Switzerland is third in Group G behind Montenegro and England. Bulgaria and Wales trail in fourth and fifth place.
