Four players killed in car crash
The South African Football Association says four second-tier players have been killed in a car accident in the same region where national team assistant coach Thomas Madigage died in a crash last month.
SAFA says early police reports indicate the players from the Polokwane City club died while returning from a game against Atlie FC late Sunday afternoon in the northern province of Limpopo. The teams are in South Africa's First Division, one below the top-tier Premier Soccer League.
SAFA did not initially name the players or give any more details of the accident.
Madigage, the 41-year-old assistant to Bafana Bafana head coach Gordon Igesund, died last month when his car collided with a donkey on a highway in Limpopo, about 300 kilometers (185 miles) from Johannesburg.
