Foundation set up in Robert Enke's name

The German football federation is helping to establish a foundation named after Robert Enke and dedicated to the research and treatment of depression, the illness that drove the Germany goalkeeper to throw himself in front of a train one month ago.

Enke suffered from depression for years.

The foundation will also help children with heart ailments. Enke's young daughter died of a heart ailment.

The foundation is being set up by the German federation, the league association and Enke's club Hannover, and will have a starting capital of €150,000 ($221,520), according to the federation.
