Prosecutors have brought unspecified charges against the former president of Austrian club Sturm Graz and others.

Hannes Kartnig was arrested in May 2007 on suspicion of embezzlement and tax evasion after ?2.2 million ($2.7 million) went missing from Sturm Graz from 1998 to 2005. He was later released on bail.

A former Sturm Graz secretary was also detained at the time.

The Austria Press Agency reported on Wednesday that the public prosecutor's office in the southern city of Graz declined to provide any specifics about the charges because formal notifications were still on their way to those involved.
