Former FIFA executive body member Sasso Sasso dies
FIFA says Isaac David Sasso Sasso, who was an executive committee member for 17 years, died at his home in Costa Rica on Tuesday. He was 85.
Sasso Sasso also was vice president of the CONCACAF confederation from 1990-2007 before stepping down through ill health.
Jack Warner, the CONCACAF president, says in a statement that ''we have tremendous respect for Isaac David Sasso Sasso's service.''
The cause of death was not announced.
Sasso Sasso was a director of Costa Rican club CS Herediano. In 1990 he began an eight-year stint as national federation president.
At FIFA, he helped organize Olympics football tournaments.
FIFA President Sepp Blatter has written to Sasso Sasso's wife Helen and son Alfredo that ''I hold the memory of my dear friend Isaac in high esteem.''
