Ross Flitney made his return to action on Tuesday night as a Gillingham XI triumphed 2-0 in a friendly at Tonbridge Angels.

The goalkeeper had not featured for the Gills' first-team since January and underwent knee surgery over the summer but, having trained for the past two weeks, appeared off the bench to play the final 20 minutes of the fixture.

The likes of Lewis Montrose, Ben Strevens, Bradley Dack, Callum Davies and Tommy Forecast also got valuable game time under their belts, playing 70 minutes before a raft of changes by development manager Mark Patterson.

Boss Martin Allen was in the stands to watch the clash against the Blue Square Bet South side and saw Dack and youngster Nathan Nyafli get on the scoresheet in either half.
