Brescia defender Francesco Flachi has been banned for 12 years after a second positive test for cocaine.

The 35-year-old player tested positive following a match between Brescia and Modena on Dec. 19 2009. He previously served a two-year ban after a positive cocaine test while playing for Sampdoria.

The new ban was imposed Thursday by the Italian Olympic Committee.

The ban was backdated to begin on Jan. 13, 2010, and will last until Jan. 12, 2022.
