FIFA expects Brazil minister to lose WCup duties
FIFA secretary general Jerome Valcke says he expects Brazil's sports minister Orlando Silva to be removed from 2014 World Cup duties.
Silva is under political pressure at home after allegations he skimmed money from social programs connected to the tournament.
Valcke says he's scheduled to visit Brazil next month and likely ''will meet the new representative of President (Dilma) Rousseff who is now conducting World Cup work at the government level.''
Valcke says he has confidence in Rousseff's decisions ''whatever happens to Orlando Silva.''
Relations between FIFA and Brazil have been tense after Rousseff's government delayed passing laws favorable to FIFA and its sponsors.
Valcke and Rousseff met in Brussels for talks to resolve the issues this month.
