FIFA executive committee member Worawi Makudi has rejected charges of improprieties in his running of Thailand's football governing body and denied it might face disbandment.

Worawi, the Football Association of Thailand president, says the body had the right to establish the Thai Premier League as a profit-making enterprise and did not violate any laws by doing so.

A parliamentary anti-corruption committee had alleged that such action was illegal.

Worawi had earlier been investigated and cleared by FIFA of allegations he misused football development grants. He has been a close ally of Mohamed bin Hammam, the suspended president of the Asian Football Confederation who was accused of election bribery last year.
