Fergie doesn't expect to splash cash
Sir Alex Ferguson has dismissed the notion of Manchester United going on a concerted January spending spree.
Ferguson has already completed the capture of Denmark keeper Anders Lindegaard from Aalesund, which could herald the departure of either Tomasz Kuszczak or Ben Amos.
Matty James, Joshua King and Ritchie de Laet have all been recalled from Preston in the wake of Darren Ferguson's dismissal, whilst there are still question marks over Tom Cleverley, who has been so impressive during his loan spell at Wigan.
However, as Manchester City prepare to splash out on Edin Dzeko, Ferguson has confirmed he will not be following suit.
"I don't think so," he told Key103.
"There is always this situation that if a certain player came up that we like we would do something but that doesn't really happen in January.
"In any case, a lot of the players relish the fact we are keeping ahead of the game by bringing in players who can challenge and be a first-team squad player.
"We are all in it together and we all want to win together. Having a stronger squad helps."
