The English Football Association has charged Fulham defender Sascha Riether with violent conduct after retrospectively reviewing video evidence of him stamping on an opponent.

Riether's apparent stamp on Manchester United midfielder Adnan Januzaj during Saturday's Premier League match at Craven Cottage was missed by the match officials.

A three-man panel of former referees reviewed the incident and all agreed that it was a sending-off offense.

Riether has until 1800 GMT Tuesday to respond to the charge.
