Everton recovers to draw 2-2 at Blackpool

November 6, 2010

Blackpool twice threw away the lead to draw 2-2 with Everton in the Premier League on Saturday.

Neil Eardley celebrated his 22nd birthday by scoring from a free kick after 10 minutes but Tim Cahill leveled just three minutes later with a powerful header.

David Vaughan restored Blackpool's advantage three minutes after halftime as the visitors appealed for handball but home goalkeeper Matt Gilks allowed Seamus Coleman's shot to squirm underneath him two minutes later.

Blackpool striker Marlon Harewood put the ball in the net in the closing minutes at Bloomfield Road but was frustrated by an offside flag.

Everton and newcomer Blackpool are both on 14 points in 10th and 11th places.
