The Premier League says it is in talks with police to see whether this weekend's season-opening matches in London can still go ahead in the riot-hit city.
A third day of rioting and looting on Monday led to England's exhibition on Wednesday against the Netherlands being called off.
The Premier League and Football League say they are ''in ongoing discussions with our London-based clubs, the Metropolitan Police and statutory authorities in regard to the staging of the coming weekend's fixtures in the capital.''
A statement added: ''With the information currently available to us there is no reason to think any matches outside of London will be affected.''

The situation will be reviewed on Thursday.
