England coach Fabio Capello will have knee replacement surgery later this week, part of the fallout from injuries during his playing career.

The surgery was delayed until after qualification for the World Cup, where England will face the United States in the first round in South Africa.

Football Association spokesperson Adrian Bevington said that ``Fabio has suffered with problems to his knee for a long time due to injuries sustained during his playing career.''

While Capello is recovering, his general manager Franco Baldini will be in Angola this month for the African Cup of Nations.
