England and Blues get Terry news
Chelsea captain John Terry injured his right foot in training on Wednesday but said he should be fit to play in Saturday's FA Cup final against Portsmouth.
Terry left training with his foot in a protective boot, prompting fears that he had broken a bone which might put him in danger of missing the World Cup as well. After a scan, however, he reported that the damage was minor.
"I took a slight knock in training but, with such an important match on Saturday, the right course of action was to put a protective boot on my right foot and have a CT scan," Terry said. "The scan has shown there is no break and I am hoping to train tomorrow if not Friday and of course play in the FA Cup final on Saturday."
The injury happened three days after the team won the Premier League title with an 8-0 victory over Wigan. Chelsea now has the chance to achieve the league and cup double for the first time.
Chelsea, which scored 103 Premier League goals and is the defending FA Cup champion, is an overwhelming favorite to beat Portsmouth, which finished last in the Premier League and has been relegated.
