Dynamo re-acquire Adrian Serioux
The Houston Dynamo have acquired defender/midfielder Adrian Serioux
from Toronto FC in exchange for a third-round draft pick in the
2011 MLS SuperDraft, it was announced today.
Serioux, 31, was a key member of the Dynamo’s first
championship team in their inaugural season of 2006. He started 15
regular season games despite missing time due to injury and all
four of the Dynamo’s playoff games.
Although he played as a center back much of the season, he
moved up to central midfield for the MLS Cup championship game
against the New England Revolution.
A Canadian international with 19 caps and one goal in his
international career, Serioux spent the 2007-08 seasons with FC
Dallas and the 2009 campaign with Toronto FC, the latter near his
hometown of Scarborough, Ontario.
He will occupy an international roster slot and arrived in
Houston prior to last night’s scrimmage against the Chicago
Fire.
The Dynamo will kick off their MLS season on March 27, with
their home opener at Robertson Stadium scheduled for April 1
against defending MLS Cup champion Real Salt Lake.
