Dunga expected to reshuffle team for Oman friendly
Brazil coach Dunga is likely to reshuffle his team from the one that outplayed England at the weekend when the five-time world champion takes on Oman in a friendly match on Tuesday.
England vs. Brazil
Dunga is without several regular starters, including Benfica pair Luisao and Ramires. Manchester City striker Robinho, who last played for his club in August, has traveled with the squad but will also miss the game, with City manager Mark Hughes reluctant to see him risked in a friendly fixture.
The growing list of injuries has forced Dunga to look beyond his regular pool of players, resulting in late call-ups for the likes of AC Milan defender Thiago Silva, Palermo midfielder Fabio Simplicio and Lyon's Cris.
But Dunga has once again ignored the claims of striker Alexandre Pato, preferring FC Porto's Hulk over the Milan man.
Dunga, who captained Brazil to World Cup glory in 1994, seems to be in the mood to experiment, also calling up attacking midfielders Carlos Eduardo and Michel Bastos of Hoffenheim and Lyon for the first time.
While even a reshuffled Brazil will be expected to easily defeat Oman, Dunga said he has warned his players that the host will be desperate to erase memories of its 2-1 AFC Asian Cup qualifier loss to 10-man Australia on Tuesday.
"I have seen the video of their match against Australia. They created too many chances and missed a couple of goal scoring opportunities. But that is football it is unpredictable," Dunga said. "Oman played better than Australia."
Real Madrid playmaker Kaka, Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva and defender Fabio Aurelio, Silva, and Simplicio are all expected to get some playing time, but Dunga said he will leave it late to name his starting lineup.
"We haven't finalized the team. We normally select the final squad on the particular day of the match. I hope Kaka would be fit to play," Dunga said.
Following the game with Oman, Dunga will have just one more international friendly date in March before he picks his squad for the World Cup finals in South Africa.
