The United States has been drawn alongside defending champion Germany, China and Ghana in Group D for the Under-20 Women's World Cup.
Host Japan will play its opening Group A match against Mexico on Aug. 19 and faces New Zealand three days later at Sendai's Miyagi Stadium in a show of support for the victims of last year's earthquake and tsunami. It also will play Switzerland in the draw announced Monday.
Brazil was drawn into Group B with South Korea, Italy, and Nigeria, while Group C includes North Korea, Canada, Norway and Argentina.
The Aug. 19-Sept. 8 tournament is the first FIFA-sanctioned women's competition to be held in Japan.
