Serbia defender Ivica Dragutinovic will miss the World Cup after
tearing his Achilles' tendon while training with Sevilla on
Thursday.
The Spanish club said the injury will sideline him for
several months, meaning he will miss the World Cup in South Africa.
Dragutinovic, 34, was considered an alternative for either
Nemanja Vidic or Branislav Ivanovic in Serbia's defense.
Serbia opens the World Cup on June 13 against Ghana, then
plays Germany and Australia.
Dragutinovic will go for checkups and possible surgery to
Finland with the same doctor who operated on David Beckham, who
suffered a similar injury.
