Don't blame Blues owner - Pannu
Blues have failed to land attacking targets such as Robbie Keane and Kenny Miller this January, while they have also had a bid for Blackpool's Charlie Adam turned down. It has led to Alex McLeish becoming frustrated at St Andrews, and the former Rangers and Scotland coach has seen his side slip into the lower reaches of the Premier League table. City were thrashed 5-0 by Manchester United at the weekend, and before the game at Old Trafford, Pannu refused to accept that owner Carson Yeung was preventing the club moving from moving forward. "Carson has so far, in aggregate, spent £26.3million since his arrival," he said in the Daily Mail. "Unfortunately, most of the purchases have not been playing much and have not improved the team directly. "There are no blames here against anybody. These things do happen. Equally, no one can blame him if he feels he is not sure if his money is well spent." Meanwhile, speculation has mounted that striker Cameron Jerome could be on his way out of Birmingham, with Shola Ameobi being lined up as a possible replacement. McLeish will be keen to bolster his ranks before the end of January but insists he has no problem with the club's owners, despite speculation that Yeung is becoming increasingly disillusioned with the Scot. "My relationship with the owners is fine," McLeish said. "We've worked together over the last year and I'm sure we'll be working together over the next year and hopefully beyond that."
