AFC Wimbledon manager Neal Ardley was full of praise for his side after they recorded a comfortable 3-0 win away at York.

The Dons manager was very critical of his side's display in last weekend's FA Cup draw between the sides and the midweek loss at Exeter but he was left smiling following goals from Byron Harrison, Stacy Long and Jack Midson.

"We had a poor performance on Tuesday at Exeter and we had a good chat on Thursday and we showed the lads a few clips about what is a good performance and I'm proud of the boys because every little detail they tried to do," he said.

"That's all you can ask from your players because you can't guarantee a win but you can guarantee a performance.

"We felt we gave the challenge to the two front men and we asked them to do it today and they did it in abundance. When you're away from home there is an old saying 'You're only as good as your front two' and we were today and everyone behind them was brilliant.

"We lacked energy on Tuesday and we had it in abundance today and that has made a huge difference. We've got to make sure we can record back-to-back wins in the league and there is that feeling once again in the dressing room."
