Diao's previous contract at Stoke expired at the end of June and he initially looked set to move on after being offered longer playing deals elsewhere. However, the 33-year-old has now agreed a deal with the Potters that will see him combine his playing duties with a new ambassadorial role. "Talks have gone very well and finally I have agreed a two year contract and I am very delighted and happy to be back at home," Diao told Sky Sports News.
