Swindon boss Paolo Di Canio has warned his side of a potential banana skin when they host struggling Colchester.

The Robins extended their unbeaten run to five matches following Saturday's win over Shrewsbury but the Italian is wary of complacency in the coming week.

Di Canio stressed that defeat to the league's lower sides can dent confidence and, with a meeting against bottom club Bury also to follow, he is desperate for his side to maintain their focus.

"We have to work, work, work, hard, hard and hard," he told the Swindon Advertiser. "We know that the problem is in the next two games we are against bottom-of-the-table clubs. That can be a big trouble.

"If you fall down against Colchester in a bad way on a banana skin or at Bury if we don't perform like we can - that can be a problem in the opposite way to the moment we are in now.

"We have more knowledge and more experience, we have proved that since two weeks ago, but why be silly and not build an extra good mentality?"
