Marseille's sporting director Jose Anigo has fuelled reports that Didier Deschamps could be a target for Chelsea.
Chelsea are on the hunt for a new boss following the sacking of Carlo Ancelotti on Sunday.
Numerous high-profile coaches have been linked with the vacant managerial position, including Guus Hiddink, Marco van Basten and Harry Redknapp.
Former Blues midfielder Deschamps has also been mentioned, and Anigo told RMC: "We have to expect anything. I suppose he is wanted.
"However, he has a contract until 2012. I do not see why he would leave. Staying or going is his own choice.
"I would prefer him to stay because of his winning mentality and quality."
Deschamps has been the manager of Marseille since 2009 following spells at Juventus and Monaco.
