Atalanta's attacking problems have worsened with leading scorer German Denis to be sidelined for three weeks with a muscle strain.
Denis, who has 15 goals this season, pulled a muscle in his left calf, according to Italian national news agency ANSA.
Atalanta is already without Guido Marilungo, who ruptured a cruciate ligament in Sunday's goalless draw at Inter Milan.
It is likely Denis will miss matches against Bologna, Cagliari and Siena.
