Defender Botia extends Olympiakos' winning streak

ATHENS, Greece (AP) Defender Alberto Botia scored twice in the second half to extend Olympiakos' perfect record with eight straight wins in the Greek league by beating Atromitos 2-1.

The Spaniard headed in a corner from Felipe Pardo in the 59th minute and struck again four minutes later, heading in a free kick from Kostas Fortounis to put his team six points clear of Panathinaikos. Borislav Stojchev scored for the hosts before the game ended.

In Thessaloniki, three first-half goals gave PAOK an easy 3-1 win over Panathinaikos, while AEK Athens blasted Iraklis 5-1.

Asteras also recovered form to win 2-1 at Ioannina, while Panionios suffered a surprise 1-0 loss at home to Veroia.

Fans continued protests over a government plans to introduce electronic ticketing at all 16 topflight teams by the end of the month.
