The 21-year-old is wanted by a number of European clubs, with Benfica, Barcelona and Roma all understood to be interested in him. Damiao made his international debut in the friendly match against Scotland at the Emirates Stadium back in March, in which he impressed. His club Internacional value the player around £16million and the club's President, Giovanni Luigi, claims the north London giants have already had a bid for the player turned down. Spurs boss Harry Redknapp is keen to strengthen his squad in the hope of challenging the Premier League top four next season. Damiao, who has netted 21 goals in 23 games for his club already this season, is expected to be called up to the Brazil squad for the Copa America tournament in Argentina later this summer.
