The Czech Republic has submitted an official bid to host the 2013 under-21 European Championships.
The football federation says the eight-team tournament would be played at the Sparta and Slavia stadiums in Prague and two other venues in the eastern cities of Olomouc and Uherske Hradiste.
The federation said Wednesday that England, Wales, Ireland, Israel and Bulgaria are the other bidders. It said UEFA is expected to select the organizer at a December meeting in Prague.
Petr Fousek, a federation official in charge of the bid, said Pavel Nedved, who won the Golden Ball awarded to the best player in Europe in 2003, has agreed to become the tournament's ambassador.
