Johan Cruyff has given up his title as honorary president of the Barcelona soccer club.
The move comes Saturday, two days after Sandro Rosell became president of the club.
The Dutch soccer great was awarded the title in April. Rosell had said the title would be re-examined as it was not included in the club's statutes.
Cruyff played for Barcelona from 1973-78 and coached the club from 1988-96, leading the team to its first European Cup title in 1992.
