Coyle keeping Cahill on a leash
Cahill wants to make up for lost time after suffering a blood clot in his left arm on the day of the Fulham game on February 6. There were fears he would miss the rest of the season, putting an end to his dreams of earning a place in England's World Cup squad. However Cahill's work ethic this week at Bolton's Euxton training base has impressed Coyle. And he has not entirely ruled out the prospect of him making a remarkable comeback on Saturday against Everton at Goodison Park. Coyle said: "Gary would love to have played last week before he trained. But that is the man he is. He wants to get his career back on track. "What I have to do is make sure it is the right time for him to come in. Sometimes you have to rein them in a little bit because they are so keen to get out there. "But I have to make sure if and when Gary comes back into the team it is for the remainder of the season. In the condition he's in that's not too far away. "He has trained ever so well to a very high standard of which I have come to expect of him. I have been delighted. "Saturday might be too soon for him but he is continuing in the right direction. "That is a tremendous boost for Gary, the club and I would suggest England. It is up to him once he is back in a Bolton shirt to show his qualities and take it from there." Wales defender Sam Ricketts is available again after sitting out the victory against Wigan last weekend through suspension.
